TRIBUTES

This part of the site is for you to create a tribute to a member of our military. It doesn’t matter if they’re living or dead; past, present, or future member of the military. Again, like the other parts of the site, I simply copy and paste the content onto the site, unless I’m told to keep something out.

I'm not a miletary wife ect., but my daughter, Jackie, was dating a young marine off an on from Enfield, Ct. He was a wonderful young man that my husband and I liked alot. But as you know high school romances are a matter of timing. Which never went in their favore. They did Phils senior prom together, which was heart grabbing, because you could see how much they adored each other but the timing was never right. So my daughter went back to her old boyfriend!!! Than next we knew she was going to have a baby. Ha, funny thing is Phil told his mom it was his child. Poor mom almost, well you know. So, two weeks before Jackie was due, we got a call that was killed in Irac from a roadside bomb. My daughter, was devistated. Phil was her life and this was not suppose to happen to him. So two and a half weeks later, Jackie had her baby girl. And she now bears Phils name in memory of hin. Philip Alexander Johnson. My granddaughter's is Alyssa-Rea Alexendria Drinkwater. And there is not aday that does not go by that we do not know he is present in our house. Yeah, he's here, Alyssa-rea's toys would make turn on when nobody was near them. Call me a crack pot, I don't care but I know what we hear and feel . This man is with my daughter and her child everyday. For that I thank-you, Phil and you know we love you. I just wish God let you stay with us alot longer. We, the town of Enfield, Ct. and us, the Drinkwater family wish you could be here right now. We love and miss you so much it can't be put in words. For Jackie, I love You. Brenda Drinkwater. We will see each other soon. xoxoxo

My big brother was killed Jan 25th 2007 on Baghdad. His vehicle was hit by an IED. It is such a pleasure to be his little sister. I could not have asked for a better big brother. He would give anything he had to anyone who needed it. I loved his family more than anything. I enjoyed racing his mustang and playing in his band Celebrate Tuesday. I can not say enough to show how great of a person Darrell was. It is going to be a year since he was killed and it is very hard all the whole family and anyone who loved him. My family and I are doing everything in our power to keep his memory alive.

We love you Darrell and love you very much
You are my hero

I am writing this for your new site. This about my little brother Darrell W. Shipp. He was KIA 01-25-2007. He was the only son out of five kids. He was the last of the Shipp line. His friends and family meant everything to him. He was the type of person that would give you his shirt right off of his back. When we found out he had to go to Iraq we tried to talk him out of it. There was a form he could have filled out but he said he had to go. He said "I am going to Iraq so someone else could come home". He called it the place of all sand and no beach. He also loved to race and he played in a band. He played the bass guitar. He also wanted to become a math teacher when he got out of the army. Then we got the news that no family wants. He was in his Humvee when he hit an IED. We are coming on a year and everyday is a struggle. Please watch this video that was put together for him on you tube:

Here is a picture of him from my photobucket:
